Using a Double Click

Did you know that are hundreds of keyboard shortcuts which are designed to save you time when it comes to formatting business documents? Not only can you use a keyboard shortcut instead of a menu or a button, but you can also use the power of the Double Click.

If you Double Click on a particular part of the Microsoft Word screen element, you will be able to activate a function quickly and easily.

Page Setup

Double click on the ruler to access the Page Setup dialog box. Here you will be able to change your margins, change the paper orientation from portrait to landscape as well as add page borders.

Record a Macro

Double click on REC in the Status Bar to Record a Macro.

Track Changes

Double click on TRK in the Status Bar to Tracking Changes. The Reviewing toolbar will also open. Double click again on TRK to stop tracking any changes. The Reviewing toolbar will remain open.

Go To

Double click on the Page Number in the bottom left hand corner of the status bar to activate the Go To dialog box.

Spell Checker

Double click on Spell Checking symbol in the status bar to activate the Check Spelling feature

Indents

Double click on the Indent symbol on the ruler to activate the Format Paragraph dialog box.

Tabs

Double click on a Tab marker to activate the Format Tabs dialog box.
