Querying and Administering SQL 2016


This five-day instructor-led course provides students who administer and maintain SQL Server databases with the knowledge and skills to administer a SQL server database infrastructure.The primary audience for this course are existing database professionals with experience of SQL Server 2014 who want to update their skills to SQL Server 2016.


At the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • authenticate and authorise users
  • assign server and database roles
  • authorise users to access resources
  • protect data with encryption and auditing
  • describe the basic architecture and concepts of Microsoft SQL Server 2016
  • understand the similarities and differences between Transact-SQL and other computer languages
  • write SELECT queries
  • query multiple tables.


In addition to their professional experience, students who attend this training should already have the following technical knowledge:

  • basic knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system and its core functionality
  • working knowledge of Transact-SQL
  • working knowledge of relational databases
  • some experience with database design
  • working knowledge of relational databases
  • basic knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system and its core functionality.
