Administering Cisco Unified Communications Manager


Introduction:

Administering Cisco Unified Communications Manager (ACUCM) v8.0 provides system administrators and networking professionals with an understanding of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager System from both a Level 1 and Level 2 support perspective. The course teaches the concepts of IP of the system from the perspective of server administration, including its function, features, and configuration. This is an entry-level course that begins with the basic concepts of IP telephony and quickly moves the learner forward into an understanding of the system concepts: clustering, user configuration, phone configuration, route plans, digit manipulation, call admission control, survivability, media resource, and phone features. All of these system concepts are important in supporting IP telephony in the enterprise network.

Course Objectives: 

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

  • explain Cisco Unified Communications Manager from a Level 1 and Level 2 support perspective
  • explain the system, services, and features of Cisco Unified Communications Manager
  • explain the importance and configuration of redundancy and high availability in the enterprise network
  • configure basic phone and user options
  • use the BAT to add phones and users
  • explain route patterns, gateways, and trunks
  • configure conferencing, MOH, and other media resources
  • configure phone features, hunt groups, and services.
