Description:
This 2-hour workshop focuses on building data-driven Web based user interfaces using data source and data bound controls.
Within the workshop you will learn the following:
- Defining database connections through the Web.config file.
- Using the new data source controls for accessing data in a variety of formats including the SQLDataSource control, the XMLDataSource control, and the ObjectDataSource control.
- Binding user-interface data controls and data-aware standard controls.
- Using ADO.NET objects directly in a Web application, without using the data source controls as intermediaries
As a workshop, most of your learning will take place during the extensive lab.
Objectives:
- Describe the new features in ASP.NET 2.0 for data access.
- Write ASP.NET pages that access and manipulate data from a variety of sources.
