AJAX Programming

Description:

One of the technologies that have dramatically changed the way web applications respond to user interactions is AJAX. The major constraint with traditional web applications is that almost for every user interaction, a page refresh is guaranteed, eventually consuming a large amount of time. AJAX expedites the process of responding to user requests by interacting with the server in the background, downloading and refreshing just the requested information sparing you a complete page refresh. Therefore AJAX is the preferred technology for creating dynamic and interactive websites. In this course, in addition to utilizing basic AJAX capabilities, you will interact with the web server, manipulate XML data, work with PHP, XSLT, and JSON, and implement security and accessibility in AJAX applications. This course is intended for individuals who are experienced web application developers having experience in creating interactive and dynamic web pages with JavaScript.

Objectives:

• In this course, you will implement basic AJAX techniques on web pages. This will enable you to create interactive and user friendly websites.

• Browser Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 (or higher)
• Browser Mozilla Firefox 2 (or higher)
• Browser Apple Safari 2 (or higher)
• Operating System Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Vista, or Windows 7
• Operating System Apple Mac OS X 10.4 (or higher)
• Processor Pentium III 1 GHz (or better)
• Processor Macintosh Intel-based or PowerPC G4 (or better)
• RAM 512 MB (1 GB or more recommended)
• Internet connection 256K (broadband recommended)
• Adobe Flash Player 8 (current version recommended)
• Adobe Reader 7 (or higher)
• Other requirements may apply to supplemental offline activities. Omitting these optional activities does not affect course completion.
