Welcome to the second course in the CompTIA® A+® Certification (2009 Objectives - Windows 7) series. Now that you have identified the hardware components in personal computers, the PC operating systems available, and the best practices used by IT technicians, you can start installing and configuring those hardware components. As an A+ technician, you may have to install a number of different hardware devices and components. This course will help prepare you to perform installations and configurations efficiently and correctly on the job.



  • In the CompTIA® A+® Certification (2009 Objectives - Windows 7) series, you will install, upgrade, repair, configure, optimize, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on basic personal computer hardware and operating systems. In this second course in the series, you will install and configure various peripheral and system components.

  • Operating System Apple Mac OS X 10.4 (or higher)
  • Processor Pentium III 1 GHz (or better)
  • Processor Macintosh Intel-based or PowerPC G4 (or better)
  • RAM 512 MB (1 GB or more recommended)
  • Internet connection 256K (broadband recommended)
  • Adobe Flash Player 8 (current version recommended)
  • Adobe Reader 7 (or higher)
  • Operating System Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Vista, or Windows 7
  • Other requirements may apply to supplemental offline activities. Omitting these optional activities does not affect course completion.
