This two-hour course provides an overview of the skills required toconfigure Windows Firewall, security-related settings in InternetExplorer, and Windows Defender. The course covers the following topics.

  • Configuring Windows Firewall
  • Configuring Security Settings in Internet Explorer 8
  • Configuring Windows Defender


This course helps you prepare for the certification exam 70-680: TS: Windows 7, Configuring.

Student Prerequisites

  • Ability to install PC hardware, devices, and applications frommedia, configure BIOS, map network file shares, and work from thecommand prompt
  • Knowledge of scripts, batch files, support logs, TCP/IP andnetworking, applications, security concepts, and principles of usingprinters
  • Knowledge of Windows and Active Directory, including domain useraccounts, domain versus local user accounts, user profiles, and groupmembership

 

Objectives:

  • Configure Windows Firewall on a Windows 7 client computer.
  • Configure security-related settings in Internet Explorer to help protect a Windows 7 client computer that is connected to the Internet.
