The Configuring the Network course (WS-3991) teaches you about the Internet layer protocols, the Internet Protocol (IP) datagram, IP address types, subnetting and variable length subnet mask (VLSM), and interface configuration files. It also teaches you how to administer logical interfaces, increase network throughput and availability, and how to implement multipathing and trunking. It also teaches you the basics of routing, including routing schemes, routing protocol types, the routing table, how to configure static and dynamic routing, and how to troubleshoot routing. It also teaches you about Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), including IPv6 addressing and autoconfiguration, and how to enable, manage, and configure IPv6. This course also describes unicast and multicast address types. It also teaches you about the transport layer, the user datagram protocol (UDP) and Transmission Control Protocol (TCP).
