In this online learning course, you will learn how to implement content management solutions in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. In the course, you will learn document management and content management workflows, Web content management, and records management. This course also helps prepare you for certification exam 70-630.

Student Prerequisites:

  • Have completed (or equivalent knowledge / experience): 5403AE - Implementing Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.
  • Have on-the-job experience implementing, managing, and supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2003, including Internet Information Services (IIS).
  • Have working knowledge of networking, for example, TCP/IP and Domain Name System (DNS).
  • Have basic knowledge of key benefits of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS), new features and functionality of MOSS, and WSS 3.0 acting as a platform for MOSS.



  • Describe the goals and key components of content management solutions in MOSS 2007.
  • Describe the role of a document center, content types, and document information panel in MOSS 2007 and how to create columns and views, implement content types, and configure e-mail settings for lists and libraries.
  • Implementing built-in and custom workflows for document management in MOSS 2007.
  • Describe how to create and configure publishing sites to be used for Web content management in MOSS 2007.
  • Describe the various content management-related issues, the purpose of records repositories and their role in managing e-mail folders, the process of implementing records repositories, and how to configure an information management policy and implement a records management solution in MOSS 2007.
