Implementing Interoperability and Platform Features in Windows Mobile® 5.0€“Based Applications (5155)


 

Description:

In this 2-hour course you will learn how to enhance your Windows Mobile-based applications through interoperating with unmanaged code and through leveraging platform-specific features provided by Windows Mobile 5.0. Topics in the course include using State and Notifications Broker, Microsoft® Office Outlook® Mobile, and using PInvoke to call unamanged dlls. In the lab you will develop an application that utilizes interoperability and platform features.
This course will also help you prepare for Exam 70-540: TS: Microsoft® Windows Mobile - Application Development.

Student prerequisites:

  • Microsoft Visual Studio® 2005 (1 year)
  • Microsoft .NET Framework / .NET Compact Framework. (1-2 years)
  • Microsoft Visual Basic® .NET or C# (1-2 years)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server™ 2000/2005 (1 year)
  • Enterprise application development (1 year)
  • Smart Device development using Microsoft Visual Studio® 2005 (recommended)

 

Objectives:

  • Monitor the system state of a mobile device by using State and Notifications Broker.
  • Integrate Microsoft Office Outlook Mobile features and data in a Windows Mobile–based application.
  • Call unmanaged DLL functions by using the Platform Invoke technology.
  • Implement IPC in a Windows Mobile–based application.
