Introduction to Software Life Cycle Models

As a programmer, you might have written numerous small programs or have developedsmall applications to perform specific tasks. In the process, you might haveemployed strategies that suited your specific needs. Developing large applicationsfor clients, however, is a different proposition altogether and you cannotjust employ strategies and processes that you are comfortable with. Doingso can result in software systems that might not meet user expectations. Inorder to develop good-quality software that meets end-user expectations, numerousSDLC models have evolved all of which offer a structured and process orientedapproach to software development. Each of these SDLC models can be employedfor a specific type of project depending on project requirements. By analyzingthe various SDLC models, you will be able to identify the model that is bestsuited for a particular project, guaranteeing its success. This course is intended for entry level programmers or programmers who needexposure to the various software life cycle models and processes. It is alsointended for project managers and development managers.
