Java EE 5: Web Component Development


Description:

This course is for students skilled and experienced in using J2EE and familiar with SQL. Students should have knowledge of database structure and terminology. Students should also understand object-oriented programming. This course will address the critical skills needed by enterprise developers who will use Java Enterprise Edition 5 (JEE 5) to develop web components. JEE 5 is the premiere development platform for secure, scalable, and portable web applications. The course will introduce you to the basic framework that makes up the JEE 5 application. You will then work with the components within the multi-tier system and examine their role in the development process. Further, you will learn to take advantage of the technologies provided by the JEE 5 framework to create dynamic web applications. You will also incorporate security measures to ensure that your application is not vulnerable to unauthorized access. The skills and knowledge you gain in this course will help you to master JEE 5 web component development and create robust web solutions. Not only will be you able to develop dynamic web applications, but you will also be able to incorporate a variety of features that will make your application rich, user-friendly, and open to a wide audience.

Objectives:

  • In this course, you will develop JEE 5 web applications. You will create web components that support dynamic delivery of content. Next, you will learn how to maintain client state and how you can use this information to track users through your application. You will then use a JavaBean in your web application, and create and use a JSP custom tag library. Next, you will implement JSF components in your JSP page and add functionality to your web application. You will also incorporate security and filters into your application to prevent unauthorized access to the application's resources. Finally, you will explore JEE 5 design patterns and database integration into a web application.
