In this course, you'll examine the uses, benefits, and drawbacks of Linux. You will also examine how to install Red Hat Linux 7.2, and work with Linux commands, email clients, X Windows, window managers, groups, the Linux file system, file and directory permissions, shells, variables, functions, and RPM packages.


  • After completing this course, you'll be able to define and identify the uses, advantages and disadvantages of Linux, create disks, install Red Hat Linux 7.2, use the Linux email clients, customize and configure the X Windows environment, create and configure users and group, work with the Linux file system, search and sort files, manage the permissions and privileges associated with files and directories. You will also be able to start and shut down a Linux system, configure and use printer, work with shells, functions, environmental and local variables, work with the Jobs and Process table, manage multiple jobs, archive files, work with installed packages, and RPM.
