Making Web Applications Available to Mobile Devices with Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2005 (4286)


This 2-hour workshop introduces students to Web application development for mobile devices with Visual Studio 2005. It covers all the core technologies needed to create device-specific pages for mobile devices such as cell phones and PocketPCs.

Within the workshop you will learn the following:

  • Detecting if the browser is running on a mobile device.
  • Redirecting the browser to a Web form built for mobile devices.
  • Developing Web pages for mobile devices
  • Detecting specific capabilities of the device.
  • Providing different Web application features for devices with different capabilities.

As a workshop, most of your learning will take place during the extensive lab.
