Overview of the Microsoft® Windows®€“Based Hosting Solution (5238)


 In this online learning course, you will explore the fundamentals of Windows-based hosting including the solution, infrastructure components, and types of hosting services. Additionally the course teaches you how to identify the requirements for a successful deployment. This also helps you prepare for the certification exam 70-501.

Student Prerequisites:

  • 3+ years of experience managing a Microsoft Windows-based network.
  • An MCSE on Windows Server 2003 credential or equivalent knowledge.
  • Knowledge equivalent to that taught in Course 2576.
  • Familiarity with operational best practices such as those described in the Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
  • The ability and experience to troubleshoot the following:
    • IIS
    • Active Directory
    • Security
    • Infrastructure


  • Provide an overview of the Windows-based hosting solution.
  • Explain the benefits of the infrastructure components of the Windows–based hosting solution.
  • Explain the benefits of the hosted services offered by the Windows–based hosting solution.
  • Describe the tasks that you need to perform to determine the feasibility of the Windows-based hosting solution.
