Performing database administration can be a tedious task. For a database administrator, it takes a lot of effort to install, configure, and maintain a database. In order to gain more proficiency with database administration, you need to explore the various database administrator tasks and the tools provided by Oracle Database 11g. Oracle 11g has many features such as Enterprise Manager and NetCA that will enable a DBA to manage and administer databases quickly and efficiently. This course is intended for students who are familiar with the usage of databases and SQL, and who wish to acquire basic database administration skills using Oracle Database 11g.This course maps to the requirements for the Oracle Database 11g: Administration I certification exam (exam 1Z0-052).

  • In this course, you will install Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition software, create a new database, and learn how to administer the database.
  • You will also configure the database to support an application and perform tasks such as creating users, defining storage structures, and setting up
  • security. Database administration does not comprise of just database configuration, but also involves designing a backup and recovery strategy and monitoring the database to ensure that it operates smoothly.
