Agile Project Management Foundation

Audience and learning outcomes

The course has no pre-requisites.  It includes everything you need to know to run an AgilePM project and includes a bonus introduction to Scrum.

You will learn:

  • The principles and concepts of an Agile approach
  • How an Agile project is managed
  • An Agile project lifecycle 
  • How to construct a user story 
  • Agile estimating techniques
  • Agile planning techniques and the use of time boxes
  • Practical approaches to running an agile project
  • What Scrum is, how it works and how to integrate it into a project environment

This is a useful and practical approach to agile project management. It includes many exercises designed to show how the concepts and techniques work in practice.

  • A 20, page overview of Agile Project Management, emailed upon confirmation of course booking. Includes sample Foundation style questions 
  • A copy of the official textbook “Agile Project Management Handbook”.
  • Templates for an Agile project 
  • Our “Portable Agile Project Management” pocket guide.
  • Copies of all slides with additional notes.
  • An exercise workbook
  • Two white papers including one on combining Agile with PRINCE2
  • Sample exam questions provided by the APM Group, the administrators of Agile Project Management. 
  • The Agile Project Management Foundation Exam

Pre-course Preparation and Requirements 

Candidates are required to read pre-reading material, (approximately 2-3 hours) including an overview of Agile Project Management and sample Foundation exam questions. This is emailed to participants upon booking a place

Foundation exam 

All Agile Project Management exams are provided by the APM Group. The Foundation exam is a 40-minute closed book, and multiple-choice exam. The pass mark is 50%. The exam is taken at the end of the third day.
